How to Support Spam Resource (And a Cool Chicago Bookstore)
People sometimes ask how they can help support Spam Resource. (Which is very kind of you. Thank you!) Should I be selling memberships or something? I don’t think that’s going to happen any time soon. But if you’d like to do something easy and/or fun to show your support, feel free to buy your books from my wife’s cool bookstore in Chicago: Jarvis Square Books.
Jarvis Square Books is a neighborhood bookstore focusing primarily on affordable used books. It’s a small space, curated by owner Kate and manager Michael to share “books for readers,” with a goal to “sell the kind of books that excite grown-up library kids, proud nerds, scholars, autodidacts, emo teens, aging hippies, storytellers, and secret poets.”
And if you can’t make it to Chicago but still want to show your support, that’s easy, too! Just use their BookShop.org link to buy books online -- you’ll be supporting independent bookstores while getting new books delivered right to your door.

It opened in October 2024 (covered here by Block Club Chicago) and you can find their website here. They’re located at 1522 W Jarvis in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, right off of the Jarvis red line stop. If you visit, please consider leaving a review on Yelp or Google.
