The Gmail subscription management feature has landed

Way back in April 2024, I shared that Google was working on adding a new “subscription management” feature to Gmail. And shared how similar functionality looked at the time in Yahoo and Microsoft webmail platforms. Looks like Google’s finally ready to go with their version.

And it’s pretty straight forward. As announced this past week, Gmail is rolling out a new “Manage subscriptions” view that collects all your known mailing list senders in one place. Gmail shows you a list of senders, how often they’ve emailed you recently, and gives you the option to view recent messages or unsubscribe with a single click.

You’ll find this under the navigation menu in Gmail—click the hamburger menu in the top-left corner and select “Manage subscriptions.” (Assuming it’s live for your account. Rollouts seems to still be in progress.)

From the sender side, this is yet another reason why complying with Gmail’s bulk sender requirements (like honoring list-unsubscribe and supporting one-click) are so very important.

Worth noting: This feature is coming to Gmail on the web, Android and iOS, but only in “select countries” for now.
