Here's a question that I was asked recently: Where, exactly, does a BIMI email sender logo show in the inbox (or next to the inbox) in all the different email clients and webmail platforms that support it?
I thought it would be fun to demonstrate this visually, so I dug out email test accounts at some of the various webmail providers that support showing BIMI sender logos. I signed up for various email newsletters and marketing emails using those test accounts, focusing on a dozen or so email senders where I found that they had a BIMI record in DNS for their email domain, and then I waited a few days to see what email messages came in.
I received examples of emails with sender logos in every mailbox I tried this in, so I took screenshots of the lot of it and I share those with you in my latest "Ask Al" video for Valimail. Find it over here on Youtube or embedded above. In it, I share examples of logo placement in Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Apple iCloud, and Fastmail. (Other mailbox providers support BIMI logos, too, but it wasn't possible for me to capture examples of every single one.)
And if you're wondering, for BIMI logos, what exactly is the value to an email sender? My esteemed Vali-colleague Scott Ziegler covered this in another recent video, sharing data showing the engagement lift seen by an actual email sender in recent testing. Find that here.
