While recovering from recent surgery, I (re)watched at least fifty episodes of Brooklyn Nine Nine, and while working my way through the second season, I stumbled across this opening scene: Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) sets out to send a heartfelt condolence email to Captain Holt (Andre Braugher). Sounds simple enough, right? Well, things take an unexpected turn when Jake forgets to check one tiny but crucial detail before hitting send. It's awkward, hilarious, and it ends with a lovely deadpan response.
