Yahoo seeing inbound delivery delays -- should be fixed now
URL Copied
Starting perhaps around 7:00 am US central time on Friday, June 21, many senders started to see inbound email delivery delays when sending mail to Yahoo Mail subscribers (Yahoo, AOL, Verizon.net, and related domains). In addition to folks approaching me directly, various industry forums and Down Detector seem to confirm the issue. Errors seem to include "service not available" or "requested action not available."
Not all senders seem affected, so if you run an email platform, you'll want to check your MTA queues.
If you're able to, you might want to temporarily pause email sends to Yahoo domains.
My understanding is that Yahoo is aware of the issue and is working on it.
I'll post an "all clear" here when appropriate.
Update: 1:08 pm on Friday June 21 -- I am told that Yahoo believes the issue to be addressed and that queues should now be clearing and things should be getting back to normal.
