Email privacy and policy compliance: Focus on Spamtacular and Mickey Chandler

As you may or may not know, my friend Mickey Chandler, whom I’ve interviewed for this blog previously, recently completed law school and passed the bar in Texas. And now he has gone on to re-launch his consulting career, and to renew his focus on his Spamtacular blog, where he shares his thoughts and musings on email, privacy, and the law. I recommend following and reading (and hiring) Mickey, if you’re looking for guidance, insight, and/or consultation on the legal side of deliverability, email privacy and policy compliance.

Here’s a few of his recent musings from the Spamtacular blog:
  • Legitimate Interest is not just something you assert: Explaining how GDPR's "legitimate interest" permission exemption is not just something you can shout to the heavens and then never have to comply with opt-in requirements ever again.
  • Can You Ignore Privacy & Data Protection? How implementing privacy and data protection policies can help in your attempts in building trust, meeting customer expectations, preventing breaches, enhancing efficiency, mitigating risks, and more.
  • And a couple of different posts (here and here) and a video or two on a series of lawsuits brought against email senders (and their ESP platforms) alleging that open tracking (“spy pixels”) violate Arizona law. A must read.
All this and much more! That’s over on www.spamtacular.com, go check it out.
