Reference:, GMX and Domains

GMX and are two freemail providers based owned by United Internet (1&1) and primarily based in Germany, but providing free email seemingly globally. might be considered the "US edition" of their email service and has nearly 200 different email domains to choose from.

It's been tough to find a published reference list of domains used by them (with the exception of the domains), but here's what I was able to come up with, with help from smart guys Jakub Olexa and Udeme Ukutt.

I've tried to narrow this list down to domains that I believe to be owned by the provider, not domains owned by customers and pointed at the ISP.

Open questions:
  • Do I have all possible domains listed here? Probably not.
  • Should I be combining and GMX domains together? They are sort of separate, but they're owned by the same company and seem to utilize the same spam filtering.
  • Have I missed anything else here? Feel free to share your thoughts in comments.
This list may be a bit incomplete, but I think it's probably a good starting point if you're looking to segment out mail to subscribers at these ISPs or if you plan to adjust MTA settings for how you send mail to subscribers there. I hope you'll find it useful!

GMX and domains:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, domains:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

That's a lot of domains. And I don't even think I've gotten all of them.
